Dr. Ram Prasad has more than 15 years of experience comprising of research and teaching in the areas of machine learning, computer vision, biometrics, software development, and algorithm design. Dr. Ram Prasad has earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain in 2015 with the highest distinction “Sobresaliente Cum Laude” and was also awarded the title “International Doctor”. He has received the prestigious European Union Marie Curie Fellowship for his doctoral research work. His Ph.D. thesis got nominated for the prestigious European Biometrics Research and Industry Award. He graduated from Chennai Mathematical Institute, India. He has several publications in reputed journals such as IET Biometrics, Elsevier – Information Fusion and in several IEEE international conferences such as ICPR, ICCST, SIBGRAPI, etc, and also has contributed a book chapter in “Handbook of Biometrics for Forensic Science”.
He pursued his postdoctoral research work at Dublin City University, Ireland through a Marie Curie Fellowship on an ambitious European Union project named ASSISTID where he was involved in developing artificial intelligence-based assistive technology tools for children with intellectual disabilities and autism. He was also a visiting researcher at the University of Twente, The Netherlands, and the University of Halmstad, Sweden. He is the Founder and Director of VisionCog Research and Development Pvt Ltd which focused on consultancy and training in the domain of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. Before joining Sai University, he was associated with Shiv Nadar University, Chennai as an Assistant Professor. Mr. Ram Prasad is now the Associate Dean for the School of Computing and Data Science at Sai University.
