Sai University Observes Suicide Prevention Day with Student-Led Awareness Activities

10 September 2026
The Psychology Sciences Programme brought students and faculty together to encourage conversations about mental well-being, compassion and seeking support.
The Psychology Sciences Programme at the School of Arts and Sciences, Sai University, observed Suicide Prevention Day with an initiative dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging a compassionate approach to mental health.
Students took an active role in organising creative awareness activities and events that opened conversations about emotional well-being and suicide prevention. Their participation highlighted the importance of reaching out for support, listening without judgement and responding to others with empathy.
The initiative encouraged members of the university community to recognise the value of supportive conversations and shared responsibility in creating an environment where people feel heard and respected. It also reinforced the importance of making mental well-being part of everyday conversations on campus.
The programme expressed sincere gratitude to the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Dean Dr. Maya, Dr. Mridula C. Jobson, Dr. Jemima, all Deans, faculty members and students for their support, encouragement and participation.
Through this collective effort, Sai University took a meaningful step towards strengthening mental health awareness and nurturing a more compassionate campus community.
