Dr. Ashok Chandrasekaran
Assistant Professor
Ph.D. in the field of array signal processing from Anna University
Dr. Ashok Chandrasekaran has nearly a decade of teaching and research experience in signal processing. His broad research interests lie in array signal processing for RADAR and 6G-and-beyond wireless technologies, including sparse sampling, low-rank approximation techniques, target detection and tracking, 5G beamforming and machine learning algorithms.
In his academic and research span, he has been associated with Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI) for a research project on a Machine Vision System and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar on a DOA Estimation project.
He has published research papers in renowned international and national journals and conferences such as IEEE includes IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering and IEEE Signal Processing Thesis, Springer, Elsevier, and PIER. Notably, his work on a machine learning-inspired DOA estimation method earned him the IEEE Publication Award in 2021 from the IEEE Madras section. Moreover, some of his conference papers have been recognized with best paper awards at IEEE and IETE conferences. He also holds an Indian patent published for passive radar applications.
He has been recognized as a peer reviewer for leading journals, including IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technologies, IEEE Sensors Journal, IEEE Systems Journal, and various Elsevier, Hindawi Journals and conferences.
Furthermore, he has delivered invited lectures and talks at various academic events, including Faculty Development Programs sponsored by the Centre for Faculty Development (CFD), Centre for Internet of Things, MIT Campus, and various IEEE national and international programmes.
He obtained his Ph.D. in the field of array signal processing, completed his Master’s in Engineering with a specialization in Communication Systems, and earned his B.Tech (Honours) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering with a specialization in very large-scale integration (VLSI)
