Dr. Ajit Nag has over three years of teaching and research experience in Economics. His research expertise spans Health Economics, Development Economics, Poverty and Inequality, and Global Issues in Development. His teaching interests include Econometrics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Statistics, Financial Economics, Development Economics, and Health Economics.
Dr. Nag completed his Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, Odisha, under the supervision of Prof. Jalandhar Pradhan. His doctoral research, titled "Health Disparity in India: An Enquiry into Convergence and Divergence," focuses on regional disparities in health outcomes across Indian states. He also holds an M.A. in Applied Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Foreign Trade from Pondicherry University.
He has qualified the UGC-NET (Assistant Professor) examination twice (2018 and 2019) and has recently completed the Personal Branding certification from Harvard Business School Online (2026). Dr. Nag has published several research papers in leading international journals, including Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (Nature Portfolio), BMC Public Health (Springer Nature), Global Journal of Emerging Market Economies (SAGE), and the Indian Journal of Economics. His research has been published in SSCI, SCIE, Scopus-indexed, and ABDC-listed journals, and he also serves as a reviewer for the International Journal for Equity in Health (BMC, Springer Nature). Dr. Nag began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Galgotias University, Greater Noida. Before joining Sai University, he served as Assistant Professor in the University School of Business at Chandigarh University Mohali, while actively engaging in teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic administration.
