Dr. Sruti Lall

Visiting Faculty, School of Arts and Sciences

Ph.D., Women’s Christian College (WCC)

Dr. Sruti Lall is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her MPhil from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore, followed by her PhD from Women’s Christian College (WCC) Chennai.

She has worked in diverse settings that include private consultancy, hospitals, organisations (both non-government and corporate), and educational institutions. Her academic journey began with an exploration of the dynamics of psychopathology, focusing on methods of assessment and treatment. Over time, her research interests have expanded to encompass the positive and preventive dimensions of mental health, including the study of adaptive strengths, approaches to coping and self-regulation, and the processes that foster resilience.

Sruti served as Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology, WCC for eleven years, during which her research on developing a standardized assessment tool for emotion regulation, funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under its Minor Research Project scheme, represents a significant contribution to advancing reliable and culturally relevant measures in psychological assessment.

At Sai University, Sruti teaches some of the core courses related to Clinical Psychology, with the objective of fostering both theoretical understanding and applied competence among students. Through her teaching, she seeks to cultivate a culture of mental health awareness within the student body, with the expectation that this knowledge will extend beyond the campus and contribute to promoting mental health literacy and reducing stigma in the broader community.
