
Dr. Kalimuthu Karupannan brings over 10 years of experience in therapeutic discovery, with research spanning infectious diseases, inflammation, and space medicine. He holds a Ph.D. from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, and has been recognized as a University First Rank Holder in both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Dr. Kalimuthu has received multiple accolades, including Research Excellence and Drug Discovery Awards from the University of California, USA, and the University of Oxford, UK. His work has been widely published in reputed international journals such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC), IEEE, and Medical Virology, among others.
He began his research career at the University of California, Davis, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford, UK. Prior to joining Sai University, he served as Assistant Professor (Research) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
Dr. Kalimuthu has also been associated with the NASA Space Technology Research Institute, USA, where he played a key role in space medicine discovery and development programs. His research has led to several novel therapeutic discoveries addressing emerging infectious and metabolic diseases, and he holds an approved U.S. patent for his contributions.
At Sai University, Dr. Kalimuthu continues to advance the integration of biomedical innovation, research excellence, and clinical application in the field of Allied Health Sciences.
