About Education Research Interests Major Works Nitish Rana Lecturer Nitish is a Lecturer in the School of Computing and Data Science at Sai University. He received his M.Tech in Computing and Mathematics from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad, in July 2025. He previously earned his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Allahabad in May 2022. He qualified for both the JEE 2018 and GATE 2023 exams. His academics and research cover topics such as data structures and algorithms, machine learning, database management systems, and mathematics. He knows multiple programming languages, including C++ and Python, along with technologies like full-stack development and machine learning. His professional experience includes an industrial traineeship with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). During his M.Tech, his thesis focused on “Compressed Sensing Federated Learning for Connected Healthcare,” with the goal of predicting cardiovascular illness using ECG waveforms. His project effort also includes the creation of a secure e-voting platform that increases voter accessibility. He also worked as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Programming, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering courses, where he selected assignments and helped students learn. Beyond academics, he won multiple medals in basketball during his master’s, showcasing his strong engagement in co-curricular activities.

Dr. K. P. Krishnan has served in various fields and secretariat positions in the Government of India, Government of Karnataka, and World Bank. He served in the Indian Administrative Service for nearly 37 years. His key roles in the Government of India include: Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Special Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development; Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance; Secretary, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council; and Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance. During his stint in DEA, Dr. Krishnan initiated many extensive reforms to market functioning, instruments, and regulatory structure in the financial sector. He was also instrumental in setting up the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission, which led to an extensive re-writing of laws dealing with financial sector regulatory architecture as well as bankruptcy law reforms. In the post-Lehman crisis management in India, Dr. Krishnan played a crucial role in his capacity as Secretary of the High-Level Coordination Committee on Financial Markets. He contributed significantly in the establishment and the formation of the founding team of the Universal ID Authority of India. He is chairperson of a committee of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to create a regulatory framework in the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. He also chairs an expert committee constituted by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) of the Ministry of Finance on the subject of variable capital company structure for fund management activity. Dr. Krishnan is educated in Economics at St. Stephen’s College and Law at the Campus Law Centre University of Delhi. He joined the IAS in August 1983 and belongs to the Karnataka cadre. Sai University students participated in “Gen Z High Tea: India’s Future Through Young Eyes” on 23 September, hosted by the British High Commission in India in Chennai. Organised to mark International Youth Day and the upcoming International Day of the Girl, the gathering brought together 100 students from across the city to share their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges shaping India’s future. Sai University representatives worked in cross-disciplinary groups to discuss India’s strategic vision for 2035, the evolution of careers and the impact of technology on future leadership.
